C Compiler Installation

As you know, a compiler converts the code written in a programming language into a machine executable form. According to different platforms for C language, many C compiler is available.

Dev C ++ / C Compiler is an Integrated Development Environment. Through this, programming in c or c++ becomes very easy. This IDE provides you with a graphical user interface and also provides you with the ability to work with automatic code completion, syntax highlighting and multiple files at once.

 

This IDE is recommended for readers of Codingkida. Although the Turbo C++ compiler is still being used in many universities and colleges, these IDE provides better development environment so you should use it only.

 

Steps for installing C Compiler

You can download this IDE from the Dev-C ++ Download Page. Installing it is being explained by the following steps.

  1. Once you click on the setup.exe file and click on it, you will be shown the window below.

In the above window, you have to select your preferred language. Default language is English. Here you will click OK.

 

  1. After this, you will be shown the screen below.

This is a license agreement window. Here you will click on the ‘I Agree’ button.

 

  1. After this, you will be shown the window below.

In this window, you have to choose the type of installation. These windows provide you 3 (Full, Typical and Custom) options. You can select any type of installation according to your need. After selecting the installation type, you will click next.

In this window, you specify the location where you want to install Dev C ++/ C Compiler. By default, this will install in the c drive. Once you set the location, you will click on the Install button.

This is the installation progress window. You do not have to take any action in this window.

 

  1. The above-given progress window will show you the following window as soon as it is complete.

This is the completion window, but you have to click on the Finish button.

This is the first time configuration window. In this window, you select the language and language of Dev c++ / C Compiler. After this, you will click on the next button.

In this window, you will be asked if you want to use Dev C ++ / C Compiler with Header files. Here you will select Yes, I want to use this feature option.

In this window, you will be asked to create a cache. In this window, you will select Yes, create the cache option.

This window tells you that Dev C ++ / C Compiler has been successfully configured. In this window, you will click on the OK button.

This is the window of Dev C ++. Dev C ++ / C Compiler is successfully installed on your PC.

 

Working with Dev C Compiler

Here I am telling you to execute a simple program in Dev C ++ / C compiler and you will be able to understand its basic uses.

First, you will open the Dev C ++/ C compiler. After this, you will create a new file. To create a new file, you will click on the File option in the Menu bar and after that go to the new menu and click on the source file. As shown in the below-given window.

Αs soon as you click on the Source File option, the editor will open on the right side. As shown in the below-given image.

Here you write your code. As shown in the below image.

After compiling the code with the help of C Compiler, you compile your program. For this, you go to the Execute menu and click on the compile option. As shown in the below-given image.

When you click on the compile option, you will be shown a window in which you will be asked to save this program. As shown in the below-given image.

As soon as you save this program with a name, the program will start compiling. If there is an error in the program, it will be displayed below the editor otherwise the program will be successfully compiled by C Compiler and show the message of Done.

 

After the program is compiled you will run it. To run the program, you will go to the Execute menu and click on the run option. After this, your program will run and you will show output in the console window. As shown in the below-given image.
